Your own domain

Sign-in, the app and your website at an address of your own, such as app.northfield.org, instead of your address on ORG-APP.

Add your domain

  1. Under 1. Your domain, type The address people will use, such as app.northfield.org.
  2. Press Add domain.

Then: Added. The two records to add where your domain is managed appear below. Your address on ORG-APP keeps working whatever happens here.

Add the records where your domain is managed

  1. Under 2. Add these records where your domain is managed, copy the TXT record's value with the copy button beside it.
  2. Add it as a TXT record, with the name shown, where your domain is managed.
  3. Copy the CNAME value and add it the same way. A bare domain, such as northfield.org, takes an A record instead.
  4. Press Check now, or wait: ORG-APP checks every few minutes for 72 hours.

Then: Each record shows Found once it is seen. When both are, a certificate is requested and issued, usually in under 10 minutes, free and renewed by itself, and the Owner and Admins get an email when the domain is live. A live domain is checked once a day.

Dara adds app.northfield.org for Northfield Network, pastes the two records into the domain's DNS panel and presses Check now. Both show Found within the hour, the certificate is issued minutes later, and Dara gets the email saying the domain is live.

If your domain is not live yet

  1. Read the line under 2. Add these records where your domain is managed: it says what stands in the way.
  2. If your organization needs to be verified, press Get verified at the top of the page.
  3. If the domain is set up with another website host, remove it there, then press Check now.
  4. If ORG-APP hasn't switched on custom domains for this site yet, there is nothing else to do on your side.

Then: Ownership can be proved before your organization is verified, and the domain goes live once it is.

Choose where links in emails point

  1. Read what moves to your domain: sign-in and the app, your website, public programs and booking pages.
  2. Check Links in emails and certificate checks to use your domain in them too.
  3. Press Save changes on the bar at the foot of the page.

Then: Checked, emails and printed certificates link to your domain. Unchecked, they keep using ORG-APP's addresses, which never change. Your address on ORG-APP keeps working either way.

Change or remove your domain

  1. To change it, type the new one in The address people will use and press Change.
  2. To remove it, press Remove under the records, then Remove it.

Then: Changing starts again with new records, and the old domain stops being served. A removed domain stops being served at once, and your address on ORG-APP keeps working.

Only the Owner and Admins add, check, change or remove the domain, and only on a plan that includes one; anybody else who opens the page sees where it stands, every control disabled and without the records to add, under a notice at the top that says the Owners and Admins change it. Your address on ORG-APP itself is on Details, under Web address.
