Time limits
How many working days your organization gives to acknowledge a grievance and to hear it, how early the reminder goes, and which days of the week count.
Set the grievance time limits
- Open Cases, then Time limits.
- Type the days in Acknowledge within (working days).
- Type the days in Hear within (working days).
- Type Remind this many working days before.
- Check your organization's working days.
- Press Save the limits.
Then: Grievances raised from now on take their dates from the new limits; each one already raised keeps the two dates it took when it was raised. The change is recorded with your name.
Who: HR at the top of the organization (whoever keeps HR records at its top unit, as an HR administrator seated there or an Admin does) or an Owner. Nobody is notified of the change.
Northfield works Sunday to Thursday. Dara, HR at the top, unchecks Friday, checks Sunday and keeps 5 days to acknowledge. A grievance raised on Thursday, October 8 must then be acknowledged by Thursday, October 15, and if it is not acknowledged sooner, the reminder goes on Tuesday, October 13.
Find the grievances past a time limit
- Open Cases, then Grievances.
- Press Add filter and choose Past a time limit.
- Press Open on one.
- If you hear it or keep its file, acknowledge it, or press Book the hearing.
Then: As each date comes near, whoever hears it and HR who keep it are reminded once, the set number of working days before. Past the date it shows Late to everyone who reads it, the person who raised it included. It stays with whoever hears it until they act, unless they leave the organization: then it is routed again, keeping its dates.
Who: Whoever hears it and HR who keep its file are reminded; the person it is about never is.
If you cannot change the limits
- Open Time limits.
- Read the line on the page: it says who sets them.
- Ask HR at the top of the organization, or an Owner, to change them.
Then: Every grievance follows the organization's one set of limits, whatever unit it is raised at.
The Time limits tab shows to whoever holds Read pay, as the HR administrator, Admins and Owners do. The form is for HR at the top of the organization and the Owners; anybody else is told whose the limits are. There is one set for the whole organization, and it is for grievances only.
