Structure
What each unit does: its departments, the teams inside them, and who leads and works on each.
Add a department
- Press New department.
- Choose the Unit it belongs to.
- Type its Name.
- Choose a Category to set its color, or + Add a category… and type one in New category.
- Add a Description if it helps.
- Press Add department.
Then: It appears as a heading on the page, naming its unit, and reads No lead until somebody is set. A new category is kept, in a color of its own, and offered next time.
A youth department fits none of the categories. Daniel chooses + Add a category…, types Youth and adds the department. Every department sheet offers Youth from then on, in a color of its own.
Add a team
- Press New team.
- Choose its Unit first.
- Type its Name.
- Choose its Department: one at its own unit or a unit above, or + Add a department… to make one at the team's unit.
- Choose its Leader, or leave Nobody yet.
- Press Add team.
Then: A card for it appears under its department, or under Other teams without one, naming its unit and how many people are on it.
Texas runs its own media team under the national Communications & Media department. Mary Ann chooses Texas as the unit and that department, and the card names Texas, so nobody mistakes it for the national team.
Put people on a team
- Press Roster on the team's card.
- Choose the Person.
- Choose Member, Deputy or Leader under On the team as.
- Press Add to the team. The sheet stays open for the next person.
- To change what somebody does on it, choose another role beside their name: it is saved at once.
- To take somebody off, press Remove beside their name.
Then: The card names the team's leaders and counts everybody on it.
Dara presses Roster on the Sound team, adds Sokha as Leader and two volunteers as Members without closing the sheet, then makes one of them Deputy from the list.
Say who leads a department
- Press Set lead beside the department's heading.
- Choose the Person.
- Choose Leader or Deputy under As.
- Press Set lead.
- To take somebody off, press Remove beside them under Leading it now, and confirm.
Then: The heading names its leads. A department lead is a name on the chart, not a permission: taking one off locks nobody out.
Archive a department or a team
- Press Archive on the team's card, or beside the department's heading.
- Press Archive to confirm.
- To bring one back, open Archived at the foot of the page and press Restore.
Then: It leaves the chart. A team's people are kept on it, so who was on it can still be answered.
You see the departments and teams of your units and those beneath them; a team filed under a department above your units says so on its card. New department, New team and Archive are for whoever may change units there, and Roster and Set lead for whoever manages people there. A name reads Name withheld where its unit keeps its people's names from the units above it. Somebody whose every seat is a volunteer seat sees nobody else's: Structure says so, and offers Open Messages.
