Programs

The kinds of program your organization runs: every program is filed under one of these, and only these.

Add a kind of program

  1. Press Add a program category at the top of the list.
  2. Type its name in Name, such as Retreat or Convention.
  3. Choose a Color, or No color.
  4. Press Add.

Then: Programs offers it at once when a program is added. Until there is at least one program category, nothing can be added on Programs.

Daniel adds Family Meet here. On Programs, adding a program now offers Family Meet, and the summer family meet Daniel adds that afternoon is listed under it straight away.

Give a category its card

  1. Press Edit on its row.
  2. Under Its card, add a picture.
  3. Write a line or two in Description, 300 characters at most.
  4. Press Save its card.

Then: The card is shown wherever a program is shown under that category: on your public page, on Programs and on Home, and at the top of the category's own page. Without a picture, its first program's is used.

Rename, recolor or stop offering one

  1. Press Edit on its row to change its Name or Color, then press Save.
  2. Or press Withdraw to stop offering it, read what that does, and press Withdraw it. Offer again brings it back.

Then: A new name or color shows everywhere at once. A withdrawn category is not offered for new programs, and the programs already filed under it keep it.

Make a kind of program a kind of event

  1. Press Move to Events on its row.
  2. Read how many of its programs leave Programs.
  3. Press Move to Events again to agree, or Keep it here.

Then: Its programs leave Programs and their program pages close. They stay on the calendar with everything in them, and the category is offered on the calendar's event form instead.

They are the same at every unit, so only an organization-wide role that changes settings, such as the Owner or an Admin, can change them. The page opens only for those who hold Change organization settings: anybody else who types its address is told it is set up by the organization's Owners and Admins. Somebody who holds it at a unit, not across the organization, sees the whole list with every button on it grayed out. Whether a program is public or internal is not a category: it is the program's own public booking choice.
