Payment file
How bills are paid many at once by a file your bank reads: the accounts paid from, the file each bank reads, and how long a new payee account waits.
Set up a bank account to pay from
- Under Bank accounts paid from, press Set up beside the account.
- Choose The file your bank reads, and the pain.001 version for an ISO 20022 file.
- Type the Account holder, choose the Country of the account, and type the account as the bank gives it.
- Press Save and seal, and confirm it's you.
Then: Pay bills can make runs from it. The account is sealed and shown by its last four only.
Give your NACHA details, for a US bank
- Ask your bank for its ACH details.
- Type the Immediate destination, Immediate origin, Company name and Company id as the bank gives them.
- Check Balanced file: each batch carries the debit from your own account. Ask your bank which it wants. if your bank asks for one.
- Press Save, and confirm it's you.
Then: NACHA files carry them. Each is checked as the bank will: a routing number's check digit must add up, and the company id is ten characters.
Choose how long a new payee account waits
- Type the Days a new or changed account waits before it is paid, from 1 to 30.
- Press Save, and confirm it's you.
Then: A supplier's or a person's new or changed bank account is not paid by a run until that many days have passed, unless a second person confirms it after calling them back.
Meridian keeps 2 days. On Monday a supplier's account changes; Tuesday's run cannot pay it, unless Daniel calls the supplier and confirms it; Wednesday's can.
Payment file is set up by the organization's Owners and Admins. Anybody else is told whose it is.
