One unit's web page
Write one unit's page on your organization's website: what it says, when and where it meets, whom to contact, its pictures, and whether it is published.
Write the page and publish it
- Check its Address: one word of lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, after your organization's address.
- Fill in A line under the name, About us and When we meet.
- Give Address to visit, Town or city, Region and Country.
- Add Where on a map (optional) if you want Find us to offer the unit to people nearest first.
- Add a Contact email and a Contact phone.
- Check Published when it is ready for anybody to read.
- Press Save.
Then: Published, it says Saved and published, and its address shows at the top of the page. Unchecked, it stays a draft that only those who write it see. Once it is published, replies to this unit's emails go to its contact email.
Rather not? To take a page down, uncheck Published and press Save: it leaves the website and Find us, and is kept as a draft.
Sokha writes Riverside's page: when it meets, where, and a contact email. They keep the address riverside, check Published and press Save. The page is read at their organization's address followed by /riverside, and Riverside is in Find us.
Add pictures
- Save the page once first.
- Under Pictures, press Add a picture and choose one.
- To take one out, press the cross on its corner.
Then: Each is saved as soon as it is added or taken out, and a page holds up to 12. The picture across the top of the page is the unit's own, set under Edit on the Hierarchy page.
Show who leads the unit
- Check Show who leads us.
- Press Save.
- Ask each of the unit's Unit coordinators and Unit leads who agrees to be named to open Your unit's web page in Your account, check Name me on my unit's page, and save.
Then: The page names the unit's Coordinators and leads who agreed, each with their title or role. Nobody else is ever named.
Let visitors leave their details
- Choose a follow-up track under Visitors can leave their details.
- Press Save.
Then: The published page offers a short form. Somebody who fills it in lands on this unit's follow-up, at the track's first stage, and is waiting for somebody to follow them up.
Rather not? Choose No sign-up form and press Save to stop taking details.
Who: Whoever looks after events at the unit, or nearest above it, is told at once: usually its Unit coordinators and Unit leads. Where nobody up the unit's line does, the Owner and Admins are told instead.
A visitor fills in the form on Riverside's page. They land on Riverside's follow-up, on the Visitors track, and Riverside's Unit coordinator and Unit leads are told straight away that somebody new signed up.
Show news and downloads
- For news, a moderator of the unit's posts presses the globe on one of the unit's own noticeboard posts.
- For a download, the owner of a file in Drive opens its menu, presses Show on a unit's web page…, and chooses the unit.
Then: The page shows the five newest posts marked for it, and up to 30 of the files offered on it.
Rather not? Press the globe again on the post, or Take it off the unit's page in the file's menu, to take it off.
You can open a unit's page only where you may write it: its Unit coordinator, for their unit and those beneath it, and the Owner and Admins anywhere. Which sections a page shows, and in what order, are the organization's, on Settings › Organization › Website, and a section with nothing in it is left out.
