One piece of work

One piece of work, whatever its kind: a project task, a governance action, a program job, a follow-up with a donor or an HR checklist item, on the same page.

Mark it done

  1. Read its Details: its kind and where it is from, its status, priority, who has it and when it is due.
  2. Press Mark done. On a governance action, press the button that moves it on.
  3. On a follow-up with a donor, press Log it as done, say how, and press Log it.

Then: It is done where its kind keeps it, as if you had done it on its own page; a follow-up's contact goes on the donor's timeline. On a phone the button sits in a bar at the foot of the screen.

Rather not? Press Not done to open it again.

Move it on, or change its priority

  1. On a project task, choose a column under Status and press Move; on a governance action, press the status it moves to.
  2. Choose how pressing it is under Priority, and press Save.
  3. Check off a line of a project task's checklist, or type in Add a step on a governance action and press Add step.

Comment on it

  1. Type in Write a comment. On a project task, @ mentions somebody on the project and # links a task.
  2. On a governance action, choose whether it is An update or What blocks it.
  3. Press Comment.

Then: Everybody who can open it reads it. On a project task, somebody you mention is told.

Open it where it is kept

  1. Press the second link in the breadcrumb above it: its project, its board or meeting, its program, its donor, or the checklist of the person joining or leaving.

Then: Its own page opens: a project task beside its board, a governance action on To do or in the actions register, a program job on its program, a follow-up on the donor's card, and an HR checklist item on its checklist.

If it says the task isn't one you can open

  1. Go back to All tasks or To do.
  2. Ask whoever gave it to you whether it is still there.

Each kind is read through its own page's door, so what you see and may change here is what its own page shows you.
