One class of a course
A single class of a course: the people taking it, the sessions it meets for, the work it sets, and who has finished.
See what needs you, as whoever runs it
- Open the class. It opens on Tonight: today's session, or the next to come, with its call and Take the register.
- Read Needs you: registers not taken, work to mark or give back, quiz answers to mark, people asking for a place, joining answers missing, and people ready to sign off.
- Press a line to open its tab.
- Read the figures under it: Enrolled, Waiting, Sessions held and Completed.
Then: Work, People and Register carry their counts, Posts its unread, and a class you facilitate is on your To do.
Who: Whoever runs the class: its facilitators, and people with Run courses at its unit.
Follow your own class, as a participant
- Open the class from My learning or Courses. It opens on your progress.
- Read Next up: the next session in the class's time and your own, with its call where it is online.
- Read This week: what is due and what to read now. Press See all work for the rest.
- Read Modules: the course's modules, and how much of each you have done.
Then: Everything you read here is about you alone: never anybody else's progress, marks or answers.
Rather not? Changed your mind? Press Withdraw from this class before it starts.
Change the class
- Press Edit class.
- Change its Name, its Time zone, who can join, its places, its Facilitators, and its dates where it was not made from a pattern.
- Set how many join emails a person can receive from it.
- Press Save changes.
Then: Edit class changes its name, its clock, who can join and whether participants from outside may, its places, its facilitators, its dates where it was not made from a pattern, and how many join emails a person can receive from it in 30 days (3 unless changed, 0 for none, never past your organization's 10). A new clock moves the sessions still to come so each keeps its time, Tuesday at 7 staying Tuesday at 7, and sessions already held keep the moment they happened. Anybody newly named a facilitator is told.
Open, close, reopen or cancel the class
- A draft says so on every tab: press Open there to let people join it.
- To end it, open the ⋯ beside Edit class and press Close class…, or Reopen class… on a finished class.
- Press Close early…, Reopen… or Cancel class…, read what it asks, and confirm.
Then: Its state follows its dates: open for joining until its first session's day, in progress from then, finished the day after its last, moved each hour on the class's own clock. Close early ends it sooner and stops its join link; where its course completes by itself, whoever has met the rules on the sessions held is completed now, and told. Reopen brings a finished class back with a new join link, and it stays open until you close it.
Who: Whoever holds Run courses at its unit, and its own facilitators from the organization, open, close and reopen it; canceling it takes Run courses.
Keep a paid class's money
- Find Money: on People where you run the class, otherwise on its Overview.
- Read Owed, Received and Refunded, and each place with its reference and where it stands.
- On a place, press Record a payment, Waive, Hold longer or Refund, fill in what it asks, and confirm.
- Press Set the price or Change the price until somebody pays, or Import payments to bring in a payment page's export for this class's places.
Then: A place is held unpaid for the days the course sets (7 unless changed), then released unless you hold it longer. Somebody whose place was released 2 times goes on the waiting list when they join again.
Who: Whoever holds Keep a program's money at the class's unit or above, and nobody from outside the organization.
A class opens for people at the unit running it, for those who look after that unit from above, and for everybody on it. Whoever runs it, its facilitators and whoever holds Run courses at its unit, reads Overview, Posts, Schedule, Work, People, Register and Results; everybody else on it reads Overview, Posts, Schedule, Work and My progress, about themselves alone. Enroll, invite and seat people does not run a class. A self-paced class has no sessions, so no Schedule or Register. Each button in the header and its ⋯ is shown only to whoever may use it.
