One broadcast

One broadcast as its author and its approvers see it: where it stands, how many it reaches, its words, and the buttons to approve, refuse or cancel it.

Approve a broadcast, or say why not

  1. Open it from the notice that it waits for your approval, from Approvals, or from Waiting on you on Home.
  2. Read Reaches, How many and By, and the message below them.
  3. Press Approve and send to send it now.
  4. Or press Not approved…, write Why not, and press Send the answer.

Then: Approved, it goes at once and its author is told it was approved and sent. Not approved, nothing is sent and its author reads your reason on its page. Either way the other approvers' notices are put away.

Who: Whoever may send from its unit, other than its author; for a newsletter or a report, whoever may manage contacts there.

Daniel is told a broadcast from Riverside waits for approval. Its page says it reaches 240 people now, by email and in the app. Daniel spots the wrong date, presses Not approved…, writes "The fair is on the 14th, not the 4th", and presses Send the answer.

Follow a broadcast you wrote

  1. Open it from Sent from your units on Broadcasts, or from the notice that it was decided.
  2. Read its mark: Waiting for approval, Not approved, Canceled, Queued or Sent.
  3. Read who approved it or not, when, and any reason given.

Then: Once it has gone, it says when, and how many were emailed.

Rather not? Not approved? Write it again with the change asked for: one that was not approved never goes later.

Cancel it before it goes

  1. Press Cancel it while it waits.

Then: Nothing goes. The approvers' notices are put away, its author is told if somebody else canceled it, and any text credit set aside for it goes back.

Rather not? Already queued? Press Hold what has not gone on its line in Broadcasts. What has already gone cannot be recalled.

Who: Anybody who may send from its unit, its author among them.

Check a newsletter's or a report's file and links

  1. Read The file: its name and its version. Readers get that version, even if it is replaced in Drive later.
  2. Press the file's name to open it in Drive.
  3. Read Each link: how long each reader's link works, and whether readers can download or print.
  4. Once it has gone, read how many links were opened, are still live, and were stopped.

Then: Who opened it, reader by reader, is under Drive › Shared outside.

Only its author and whoever may send from its unit open this page; anybody else, and a broadcast from a unit you cannot see, finds nothing here. How many it reaches is a count, never a list, and a name reads as withheld where that person's unit keeps its people's names within it.
