Network
Every unit you see, how it relates to the unit above it, the currency its books are kept in and where they are kept — and, for whoever keeps the books above, what to put right across the network.
See how each unit relates to the one above it
- Open Hierarchy, and press Network.
- Read each unit's row: its level, its relationship, the currency its books are kept in, and where they are kept — Books here, Books private, or Not on ORG-APP for an outside grantee.
- Press a relationship, or No relationship set, to open that unit's Relationship tab.
- With more than eight units, type in the search box to find one: the units above it stay shown, so you can see where it sits. Press the arrow beside a unit to fold what is under it.
Then: Under a unit whose books you read, a line says the transfers it sent that are not yet confirmed, those on their way to it, what it owes in levies and the grants it has received.
Daniel keeps the books of a network's head office. On Network they see Nepal is a Partner organization keeping its books in NPR, with one transfer on its way to it and a grant received, and that Kitwe has No relationship set.
Put right what the network check finds
- Read the Network check at the top: what is wrong, unit by unit.
- Press the link beside a finding: it opens the page where it is put right, such as People, Levies, Report forms, the Chart of accounts or the unit's Relationship tab.
- Put it right there, and come back.
Then: The finding is gone once the thing is really there, and the count beside To put right goes down, as does the one in Needs you on Home. It finds seven things: a partner or member body no report reaches you from; a currency a book is kept in with no rate this month; money sent between units and not confirmed after 14 days; a levy past due; a partner nobody inside can approve for; a unit with no relationship set; and a partner that keeps no money account of its own.
Who: Owners, Admins, and whoever records money at the unit above a unit see what is found about it. A unit's own book keepers are not shown its findings: the check is the view from above.
Grace is an Admin. The check says Nepal's book is kept in NPR and NPR has no rate this month, so no total across units can include it. Grace presses Enter the month's rates on Across units, types the rate, and the finding is gone.
If a unit's money, or the network check, is not shown
- Look for the line under the unit's row: it is drawn only where you hold See the books at that unit.
- Look for the Network check above the units: it is drawn only where you record money above a unit, or are an Owner or Admin.
- Ask an Owner or an Admin for the seat you need, on People.
Then: With See the books at a unit, its line shows. With Record money at the unit above it, its findings join the check, and the count joins Needs you on Home.
You see the units Hierarchy shows you, and nothing beside them. The money under a unit is for whoever reads its books, and the network check is only for Owners, Admins and whoever keeps the books above a unit. A volunteer seat sees nobody else's, and is offered Messages instead.
