Level types
Your own words for the layers of your organization — nation, region, chapter, assembly.
Rename a level
- Press Edit at the end of the level's row.
- Type the new word in Name, and its plural in Plural.
- Press Save.
Then: Every page, list and form uses the new word, for every unit at that level. The units themselves do not change.
Grace's organization calls its middle layer a district, and the level is called Region. Grace presses Edit, types District and Districts, and saves; Hierarchy, every list and every form now say district.
Add a level
- Press Add a level type.
- Type its Name, singular, and its Plural.
- Set its Order: 0 is the top.
- Check Units at this level usually have a board if they do.
- Press Add level type under the form.
Then: It is listed in order and offered for every unit. Press the + Add link at the end of its line to add a unit at that level on Hierarchy.
Sokha's organization grows a layer between its nation and its local groups. Sokha adds Region, Regions, at order 1, and every existing unit stays where it is until it is moved under a region.
Put the levels in order
- Press Edit on a level.
- Set its Order: 0 is the top, and a higher number sits lower.
- Press Save.
Then: The list shows the levels from the widest down. The order is a guide, not a rule: a unit may skip a level, and which unit sits inside which is set on Hierarchy.
If a level cannot be deleted
- Read how many units use it, on its row. Remove cannot be pressed while any do.
- On Hierarchy, press Edit on each of those units and choose another Level.
- Come back, press Remove at the end of its row, then Remove it.
Then: The level is gone from the list.
These words are used by every unit, so only an organization-wide role that changes settings, such as the Owner or an Admin, can change them. The page opens only for those who hold Change organization settings: anybody else who types its address is told it is set up by the organization's Owners and Admins.
