Leaving

Somebody leaving, step by step: a notice handed in or an end proposed, a second person's decision where one is needed, clearance desk by desk, the interview, the questionnaire, the settlement, and their access ending after the last day.

Hand in your notice

  1. Open Yours.
  2. Open Hand in your notice.
  3. Choose The last day you would like to work.
  4. Write Anything HR should know (optional), if you like.
  5. Press Hand in my notice.

Then: Your exit opens on its own page, and HR where you sit is told. Once HR confirms your last day it goes ahead: your leaving checklist starts and your exit questionnaire waits for you. From then on Leaving says your exit is open, with Open your exit.

Rather not? Changed your mind before HR confirms it? Open your exit and press Withdraw my notice: HR is told.

Who: HR where you sit confirms your last day, as your notice period allows.

Daniel hands in their notice on May 2 and asks for May 30 as their last day. Grace in HR agrees it with them and confirms it; the clearance starts, and Daniel's questionnaire waits for them.

Take an exit step that waits on you

  1. Open Yours.
  2. Read Leaving: waiting on you — a decision on whether an exit goes ahead, a settlement to approve or record paid, a notice to confirm, a questionnaire to send, or your own questionnaire.
  3. Press Open beside one.
  4. Take your step on the exit's page.

Then: A step taken comes off this list, and off the count on My workspace.

Who: Deciding is for HR at the unit above, an Admin or an Owner; approving a settlement for an Owner; recording it paid for the settlement's finance desk: the Finance officer nearest them, HR where they sit when no Finance officer is nearer, or anybody who holds both Record money and Read pay there; confirming a notice and sending a questionnaire for HR.

Start somebody's exit

  1. Open their HR record.
  2. Press Start their exit.
  3. Choose Why they are leaving.
  4. Choose the Last day.
  5. Give Notice given on (optional), if they gave notice.
  6. Write Why, for the decider and HR.
  7. Press Start the exit.

Then: The exit opens. A termination, a redundancy, a mutual agreement or another reason waits for the decider, who is told: nothing goes ahead, and no access ends, until they decide. Any other goes ahead at once: their period of service ends on the last day and their clearance starts, and for a resignation, a retirement or an end of contract their questionnaire waits for them at once.

Who: The decider is HR at the unit above theirs, an Admin or an Owner — never you, and never the person leaving.

Tomas, HR at Hillcrest, starts an exit for a redundancy at the warehouse, with a last day of June 30. It waits for Lee, HR for the Northern Region above Hillcrest. Lee presses It goes ahead, the clearance starts, and Tomas tells them in person before sending the questionnaire.

Follow the exits under way

  1. Open Under way.
  2. Read the board, a column for each stage: Waiting for the decider, Returned to HR, Notice to confirm, Going ahead and Access ended.
  3. Press a card to see its clearance desk by desk beside the board.
  4. Press Open the clearance or Open the exit.
  5. Open Every exit for closed ones too, and narrow it by Unit, Status, Why or Last day.

Then: Returned to HR shows only while an exit is there. The board draws the 200 with the soonest last day, and says how many more are under way.

If Why people leave says Not shown

  1. Open Every exit.
  2. Read Why people leave beside the list: the main reasons leavers gave in their questionnaires.

Then: No reason fewer than 3 leavers gave is shown, nor a figure beside it that would give it back, and nothing at all while fewer than 3 have answered. Each reads Not shown alike, so no figure is one person's answer.

Who: HR reads each leaver's answers on their exit; the counts here cover the exits kept where you keep HR records.

Everybody in the plan sees Yours: their own exit, or Hand in your notice, and the steps waiting on them. Under way and Every exit are HR's: the HR administrator, and the Owners and Admins, where they keep records. The HR tabs show only to those who hold Read pay; anybody else comes here from My workspace or Home. A name reads Name withheld where that person's unit keeps its people's names within it. The page is there where your organization's plan has HR.
