ID cards and kiosks

How every ID card looks, and the kiosks at your doors: a card is scanned at a kiosk, or by a lead's phone, to clock in and out.

Design the card

  1. Under The card, press Change the card.
  2. Type The word across the top, such as Staff or Volunteer, and choose its Color.
  3. Check what the card shows: Photo, Role, Unit, Staff number, Card number and Expiry.
  4. Set how many months A card lasts (months; 0 for no expiry).
  5. Write what to do with a found card under The back of the card.
  6. Press Save the card.

Then: The drawing above the form shows both sides once it is saved. Cards issued from then on are drawn this way.

Put a kiosk at a door

  1. Under Kiosks, press Add a kiosk.
  2. Choose the unit and type a name, such as Front door.
  3. Press Add it.
  4. Open the setup link it gives on the tablet, or scan its code with the tablet.

Then: The tablet clocks in and out the people seated at that unit or beneath it as they hold up their cards. Nobody signs in on the tablet.

Grace's office puts a tablet by the front door. Grace adds a kiosk called Front door, opens the link on the tablet, and leaves it plugged in facing the door; people hold up their cards as they arrive.

Stop a lost or replaced tablet

  1. Find the kiosk under Kiosks.
  2. Press Stop at the end of its line.
  3. Read what stopping does, and press Stop this kiosk.

Then: It stops clocking anybody in the moment it is stopped. Nothing it recorded changes.

Ask for a PIN at the kiosk

  1. Press Change the card, and check Ask for a PIN after the scan at a kiosk.
  2. Press Save the card.

Then: After the scan, the kiosk asks for the person's own PIN, which they set on their ID card page under My time.

The card's design is changed by an organization-wide role that changes settings; anybody else opens See the card's settings and finds every setting, none working. Kiosks are added and stopped at the units where you approve time, and another unit's kiosk shows its buttons, not working. Issuing and printing cards is under People › ID cards, for whoever adds people.
