Groups
A program's sets of groups for the date in view: discussion groups, game teams, buses or workshop tracks, each with its leaders.
Split people into groups automatically
- On People, press Groups, then Split automatically.
- Name the set and say how many groups, or how many people in each, with a size limit if you need one.
- Choose who goes in, then what to mix or group by, in priority order: keeping each booking together, keeping chosen people apart, unit, age band, gender, first-time or returning, role, an answer to a booking question, or not repeating another set.
- Press Shuffle for another arrangement, and Split when it looks right.
Then: You see the groups before anything is saved. Leaders come from a crew role and are not counted in a group's size.
Daniel needs eight discussion groups for 96 people at the retreat. They mix by unit and gender and keep families together, preview the eight groups of twelve, and press Split.
Make a set by hand, by answer, or from another set
- Press New set.
- Choose By hand for empty groups, By answer for one group for each answer to a booking question, or copy an existing set.
- Name the set, and press Make the set.
Then: The set opens on its board, ready to fill.
Move people between groups
- Open a set to see its board.
- Tap a name, then the group to move them to, or drag them there.
- Press the lock beside somebody to keep them where they are when you split again.
- Press Make the leader to make somebody a group's leader.
Rather not? Press Split again to split the unlocked people afresh, or Add a group for another group.
Open a chat for a group, or print the lists
- Press Open a chat group under a group.
- Or press Print lists for every group's list on paper.
Then: The chat is a group of its own under My groups, and its people are invited to it.
Choose what the people coming see
- Open the set's menu, its three dots, on the list of sets.
- Check or uncheck Members see each other's names.
Then: People coming see their own groups on their program page and on their printed badge: where each meets, who leads it and, unless you say otherwise, who else is in it.
Groups is for whoever runs the program. Somebody under 18 is named to the others in their group by first name only.
