Grants

What one unit grants another under an agreement — one of your own units, a partner, or an organization not on ORG-APP — and how each stands: granted, sent and spent, as its reports say.

Record a grant

  1. Press Record a grant.
  2. Type its name, choose the unit it is Given by and the unit it is Given to.
  3. Say what it is for, the amount, and the days it runs from and to.
  4. Choose its Restricted fund, and a program if it is for one.
  5. Choose how often it is reported on under Reports, and how many days after each period a report is due.
  6. Add its installments with Add an installment: a day and an amount each, and the report an installment waits for, if any.
  7. Add its budget with Add a budget line: an account group and an amount each.
  8. Press Save and send, or Save as a draft to finish it later.

Then: Sent, it is agreed at once when it is under your organization's amount, and its reports are asked for. Over it, whoever approves money at the giving unit is told it waits for them.

Who: Whoever holds Record money at the giving unit records it. A second person who holds Approve money there approves one over the amount, never whoever recorded it.

The international office grants the Nepal partner 40,000 in its Clean water fund for 2027, reported every quarter, in four installments: the second waits for report 1 to be accepted. Its budget is 25,000 for Program supplies and 15,000 for Staff costs, in rupees, the partner's own currency.

Set the amount a second person approves over

  1. Type the amount beside A second person approves grants over.
  2. Press Save the amount.

Then: Grants sent from now on are held to it. One in another currency is always approved by a second person: the safe way, more approval and never less.

Who: Whoever approves money for the whole organization sets it: an Owner or an Admin.

See which grants need you

  1. Look for Needs you beside a grant.
  2. Press the grant's name to open it.

Then: Needs you shows on a grant waiting for your approval, one with a report waiting for your review, and one whose report is yours to write.

You see the grants given or received by every unit where you hold See the books. Record a grant is for whoever holds Record money at some unit. The giving side sees what each report said, never the receiving unit's book. Somebody who holds See the books nowhere is told the page is the book's.
