Clocking in and out

Where you clock in and out, take a break, and say what a shift was spent on as you leave.

Clock in when you start

  1. Press the clock in the top bar; it says Not clocked in until you start.
  2. Choose the unit under Working at, if you work at more than one.
  3. Press Clock in.

Then: The clock in the top bar shows you are clocked in, with the time running. With a signal the time is taken from our clock, not your phone's, and your location goes with the punch where the phone gives one.

Who: Whoever approves time at that unit signs the shift off later.

Mary Ann works at two centers. Their published shift today is at Riverside, so the Clock page offers Riverside under Working at and names the shift; they press Clock in at 8:55 AM and the bar starts counting.

Take a break

  1. Press the clock in the top bar.
  2. Press Start break when you stop.
  3. Press End break when you are back.

Then: The break comes off the shift's hours, and your timesheet shows it beside the shift.

Clock out, and say what you worked on

  1. Press the clock in the top bar.
  2. Press Open the clock.
  3. Open What did you work on?.
  4. Choose a Category, where your organization has them.
  5. Type a line in Note.
  6. Press Clock out.

Then: The shift closes and appears on your timesheet with its hours. The category covers the whole shift: split it later on your timesheet if it needs it.

Rather not? Press Clock out in the top bar's clock and add the note on your timesheet later.

If you forgot to clock out

  1. If the clock still says you are clocked in from that shift, press Clock out: a new shift cannot start until it closes.
  2. Open your timesheet.
  3. Press Ask for a correction on that shift.
  4. Give the time you really left in I left at.
  5. Press Send the request.

Then: Whoever approves time where you worked moves the clock-out, with their name and a reason, and you are told.

Grace left the center at 5:30 PM and forgot to clock out. At 9:40 PM they see the bar still says they are clocked in, press Clock out, and ask for a correction: “I left at 5:30 PM.” Their lead moves the clock-out the next morning, and the shift reads 8h 30m instead of 12h 40m.

If you have no signal

  1. Press the button once, as usual.
  2. Wait: if nothing answers within about ten seconds, the press is kept on your phone with the time you pressed it.
  3. Read the line at the foot of the screen: it counts the punches saved on this device.
  4. Leave it: it sends by itself when the signal comes back, or once you sign in again.

Then: Your timesheet keeps the time you pressed. A punch that reached us 60 minutes or more after it was made shows “Sent late” on the shift, and whoever approves your hours sees the same note.

Dara clocks in at 7:02 AM on a farm with no signal. The page says “Saved on this device”, and the strip at the foot says 1 punch is saved on this device. At 1:15 PM, back in town, it goes by itself: the shift starts at 7:02 AM and is marked Sent late, 6 hours later.

The clock needs a seat: Working at lists only the units where you hold one. An Auditor, whose every seat only reads, keeps no timesheet: this page says so in place of the clock, and their card scanned at a kiosk clocks them nowhere. The clock in the top bar does the same punch from any page; this page adds the note and the category on the way out.
