Certificate template

One certificate design: its words, its look, its frame and background, and a preview of what is on screen.

Write what it says

  1. Open Content.
  2. Type its Template name and, for whoever picks a template, its Description.
  3. Choose the unit it is Published by.
  4. Write its Title, Subtitle, Presented-to line and Body, the sentence under the name.
  5. Press Save changes on the bar at the foot of the page.

Then: Certificates issued from now on say it. Those already issued keep what they said.

Add its signature lines

  1. Under Signatures, press Add signature for each line, up to six.
  2. Give each a Label, such as International Director.
  3. Paste a Signature image, an https link to a PNG or JPEG, or leave it blank to sign by hand.
  4. Press Save changes on the bar at the foot of the page.

Then: With none, the certificate is drawn without a signature row.

Set its look

  1. Open Visual style: Primary for the title and name, Accent for the frame and rule, Paper, Typeface, Title size and Body size.
  2. Open Frame & background: Orientation, Frame and a Background image, an https link to a PNG or JPEG drawn behind everything.
  3. Press Save changes on the bar at the foot of the page.

Then: Times, Helvetica and Courier are the typefaces every PDF reader has, so a certificate never fails to draw.

Say where it is offered, and make it the default

  1. Under Content, choose Offered to: This unit only, or This unit and everything below.
  2. Check This unit's default to use it for every course taught at the unit, and below where it is offered to the units beneath, that doesn't choose its own design.
  3. Press Save changes on the bar at the foot of the page.

Then: One default per unit. A unit with its own default uses it; otherwise the nearest default above that is offered to the units beneath applies.

See it before you save

  1. Press Preview PDF.
  2. Read it under Preview.

Then: The preview draws what is on screen now, not what was last saved, with a sample recipient, and is watermarked as such. Until you save, the bar at the foot says how many changes are not saved, and Discard puts back what was saved.

A template is edited at the unit that published it, by people who hold Change units there. One published above your unit does not open here.
