A course
One course: what it is about, what it takes to complete, what comes before it, and the classes of it you can join.
Join a class of it
- Read Upcoming classes: each says its unit, its dates and rhythm, its places and how it is joined.
- Press Join on a class open to anyone it reaches.
- On a class that asks first, press Ask for a place, write A note for the people running it if you like, and press Ask.
- Answer the class's joining questions, if it asks any.
Then: Joining puts you on the class at once, or on its waiting list when it is full. A request goes to the class's facilitators, and you are told either way; approved on a full class, you join its waiting list. A paid place is held until you pay.
Grace's safeguarding certificate lapses in March. The course's page lists a class on February 6 that asks first: Grace asks for a place, the facilitators approve it, and it shows under My learning.
Complete what comes first
- Read Before this course: the courses it asks you to have completed first, and whether you hold each.
- Press a course's name to open it, and complete it first.
Then: Until you hold every one, as a completion that stands and has not lapsed, joining, asking for a place and a class's code all say which to complete first.
Youth leadership asks for Safeguarding basics first, and Mary Ann's safeguarding lapsed last month. The page tells them to complete Safeguarding basics first; the people running a class can still add Mary Ann, and are told they do not hold it.
Withdraw from a class, or take back a request
- On a class you are in, press Withdraw from this class, or Withdraw from the waiting list where you are waiting.
- Give a reason if you like, and confirm.
- To take back a request still waiting, press Take back my request… and confirm with Take it back.
Then: You lose your place, and the first person waiting is given it, and told. The people running the class are told. You can join again later by the class's usual way in, answering its joining questions again.
A class Daniel joined starts next Saturday, and Daniel can no longer go. Daniel withdraws, giving the reason, and the first person on its waiting list is given the place, and told.
See where you stand, and your certificate
- Read Your standing: whether it is required of you, whether you have completed it, and your place in a class of it.
- Press Download PDF for your certificate, or open its Check link to share.
- Press Go to My learning for all your courses.
Rather not? Where you may edit the course or start classes of it and are in none, Join with a code puts you in one as a learner.
Change the course in the builder
- Press Edit course. The builder opens on its first step; a draft always opens there.
- Choose a step in the list beside it: Basics, Lessons & assignments, Scoring & completion, Certificate, Where it runs & joining or Joining form.
- Change what you need, and press Save, or the Save · Next button to go on to the next step.
- On a draft, press Publish once its checklist says every line is ready.
Then: A published course stays ready: a change that would leave a line of its checklist missing is refused. A class that has not started follows the course's lessons by itself; once it has started, its Work tab says the course plan changed, and whoever edits the class chooses what to take.
You see the classes of a course wherever they are held, with how many places are taken and how many wait, but never who learns on them. Its facilitators are named for the classes you can open, as the directory lets you see them. Lessons is for everybody it reaches; Classes and Learners & results for the people who run it; Settings for whoever may edit it. A course not offered to your unit, still a draft, or taken off the catalog says it is not found.
